EXW Ex Works The seller's responsibility is to have the goods ready for delivery to the buyer at the seller's place of business or at a location designated by the seller, and the buyer bears the transportation costs and risks thereafter.
FCA Free Carrier The Seller is responsible for the goods, including costs until delivered to a carrier of the Buyer's choice at a location designated by the Seller. The Seller is responsible for export customs clearance, after which the transportation costs and risks pass to the Buyer.
FAS Free
Alongside
Ship
The seller is responsible for transporting the goods to the ship side at the port of export. The seller is also responsible for export customs clearance, risks, and costs up to that point. The buyer is responsible for the subsequent responsibility, including the loading of the goods from the ship's side to the vessel.
FOB Free on
Board
The seller assumes the costs and risks of loading the goods onto the vessel designated by the buyer. The buyer assumes responsibility for the ship's freight and all subsequent risks and costs.
CFR Cost and
Freight
Seller's responsibility includes the cost of transportation to the port of unloading plus the cost of the goods. However, the seller's risk is limited to the time the goods are placed on board the vessel at the port of loading, and the buyer bears the risk thereafter. The Buyer's cost will be borne by the Seller after the vessel arrives at the port of discharge.
CIF Insurance,
and Freight
The seller delivers the goods to the designated port, loads them onto the specific vessel, and then assumes all insurance, transportation, and loading costs and responsibilities. After this, the buyer assumes the costs and risks associated with the transportation of the goods from the port to the warehouse or elsewhere.
CPT Carriage
Paid to
The seller is responsible for export customs clearance and for the cost of the goods being transported to the designated destination.
These transportation costs include the cost of transporting the goods to the point of delivery to the carrier and from there to the destination.
The risk passes to the buyer at the time the goods are delivered from the seller to the carrier.
CIP Carriage and
Insurance
Paid to
The seller's liability will be under the same conditions as CPT. There is one difference,the seller is responsible for shipping and insurance to the destination agreed upon in the contract. Import taxes and duties are also the responsibility of the buyer. When the buyer's designated carrier receives the goods, the risk passes from the seller to the buyer.

Unloaded
It is the seller's responsibility to transport the cargo to the designated destination and to unload and deliver the cargo from the shipping container.
The buyer is responsible for import customs clearance and related operations. Costs and risks pass from the seller to the buyer upon completion of unloading. The buyer is also responsible for payment of Import duties and taxes.
DAP Delivered
at Place
DAP delivers the goods at a location designated by the buyer. Upon delivery to the Buyer at the port of import or at a terminal in the importing country, ready for unloading prior to import customs clearance, the burden of cost and risk of the goods passes from the Seller to the Buyer. The buyer bears the cost and risk of the unloading operation. The buyer will arrange for import customs clearance. The buyer is also responsible for payment of Import duties and taxes.
DDP Delivered
Duty Paid
Seller assumes all risks and all transportation costs. Seller is responsible for export customs clearance at the port of loading and import customs clearance at the final destination. In addition, the seller is responsible for Import duties & taxes.
